Took Jamie to baby massage again today, this time he was too busy watching and listening to everyone else so he didn’t chill out as much but he still enjoyed it. At the stage where we put them on their tummies he again tried to crawl off the mat, however, this time he also stuck his bum up in the air and the Health Visitor said “oh he is far too young to be doing that yet” (I won’t write what I thought but I am not stopping him). He is obviously raring to go and I don’t think it will be that long before he is crawling properly. I also had him weighed and he is (according to their scales) 14lb 6oz – not bad for 15 weeks old! Oh and he weed on me twice this time – lovely.
We are hoping to go swimming next week so will update the blog as and when.
As all of Britain knows there was an earthquake last night. I managed to sleep through this without even noticing (anyone that knows me knows it would literally take a bomb going off next to my pillow to wake when I am alseep) however it scared the pants off Shell.
This is mainly down to the fact the Shell has a legacy childhood phobia – she is scared of wardrobe doors being left open at night because of the WARDROBE MONSTER !!!
The only item to be disturbed by the earthquake was (yep you guessed it) the wardrobe. Shell said it was shaking on it’s own and it sounded like something was trying to get out of it.
Needless to say she had to wake me up at 1 o’clock to tell me this so I am a bit tired today.
I took Jamie out today with one of the other mums I met at parent class. We thought it would be nice to go to Denton (Crown Point) shopping complex as they have a mothercare with a baby room etc in case we needed to change/feed Jamie & Dillon. It was a good job because I ended up changing him twice and feeding him twice, then Jamie decided to throw up all over me, twice!!! In fact we didn’t get much shopping done as all our time was taken up feeding and changing the babies – glad it’s not just me though! Jamie was thrilled with Dillon and they spent ages gurgling to each other it was sooo cute, me and Clare just spent the whole afternoon laughing at them two babbling on. We stood them up side by side for comparison purposes, Dillon is 2 weeks older than Jamie but there was no difference in size, in fact Jamie weighs more and I thought he looked a bit bigger, I must be doing something right as he is coming on really well.
We have taken loads more photo’s recently so will try and get them on the website as soon as possible.
Also thought I’d mention he has now grown out of all his 0-3 month clothes so we are going to have buy him a load of 3-6 stuff as we haven’t got that much in.
Just to let you know, we got a letter from the hospital consultant to say that Jamie’s dilated renal pelvis condition has cleared up and he has been discharged. This also means that he can stop taking the antibiotics which is great news. Also, Shells diabetes has gone so she can enjoy chocolate and sugar again!
Jamie had his first lot of jabs last week and he was really good. Shell said he cried a bit but not for long and he was as good as gold (I think shell was more upset than Jamie). His next lot of jabs are later in the month so we are hoping he is just as good for these.
Woo hoo – Jamie is now booked into a nursery. For those that know Hyde it is just down the road past Morrisons so it is going to be really handy for me to drop him off and pick him up.
For those that work with me it is just past where you would turn left to go down Halton St to see Estates/Cara Team.
It is a wonderfull nursery and they have a mascot call Rory the lion. Every new child gets his own rory lion which they take on holiday and take pictures of his travels.
They also have their own IT suite which impressed me and the older children can play with a digital camera and print off pictures. They had special childrens keyboards which are really ace – the keys are different colours to highlight the differences between vowels and consonants. They also had tiny little mice which were the right size for small hands. The nice lady that was showing us round told us that they got them from Amazon and we will definiately be getting some when he is older.
One of the most impressive things for me is that in the play area out the back they have a genuine miniture castle. It is about 300 years old and is only small by castle standards – it is still a really impressive size and sight.
A bit nearer the time, we can go back for more visits and so I’ll take some pics of it so you can see what I’m on about.
I really think Jamie will love it when he gets a bit bigger.
I have some new Jamie pics to post so will get those done over the weekend. As I said last time we also have some videos on the camcorder which I’ll try to sort out as well.
A bit risky I know but only friends and family check this website so I thought I’d let you all know that I have now switched from a contract phone to a pay as you go and as a result have got a new number.
